This was the worst picture I have seen this year, BAR NONE!  JUNK!  It's a remake of a Spanish picture that should have mercifully been left in Spain.  The story was so hard to follow that I can't help but believe the screen writer was drunk for ten weeks before he wrote the first word.  Horrible!  It went back and forth, up and down, side to side and kept us as confused as a three year old with a Rubik's Cube.  The ending, that I won't give away (that SUCKED) was one of the most unbelievable finales that I have seen.  Made me want to get my money back!  (Matinee price of course!)

Having said all of that, let me say the star of this picture, Tom Cruise, gave an Oscar caliber performance!  Fabulous!  I was riveted to the seat by the transformance (is that a word?) that he made during the story.  He even had some extremely funny lines that got a belly laugh from me.  He earned his money but even with this first rate job, he couldn't bail out this turkey.  Penelope Cruz was in this version AND the original Spanish version and though her performance was very good, one would think she had learned her lesson in Europe.  Cameron Diaz (who looked like Howdy Doody) gave a decent showing but seemed as confused as the rest of us.

Some people may like this picture and it's wild story.  I didn't.  I thought it was just too hard to follow and wondered (continuously), WHO THE HELL WROTE THIS TRASH!

RECOMMENDATION:  DON'T DO IT!  Don't spend your money on this one.

TWO DAZED AND TOTALLY DISORIENTED THUMBS DOWN!!!  (way down)
